Our Story

"SPLAT began with a desire to see Christian young people be challenged to live out their faith in various ways throughout our country. We wanted young people to learn to accept whatever obstacles lay in front of them and actually desire to be put in tough situations. We didn’t want to be 'camp', students knew what to expect there. We didn’t want to be a school field trip, students knew what that was like. We wanted to help students to understand that the Christian life was adventurous and exciting, but it also needed to be intentional. Following that vision we have traveled all over the US, serving in all sorts of situations.

For myself, SPLAT became my purpose. I had a job, but SPLAT became the place where I saw transformation happen. I saw young people become confident, daring and undenied in their faith and vision for what God could do for them. I believe that our faith begins when we learn to say 'yes' and blindly trust that God will be with us on this crazy adventure of life. As John writes, 'There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out all fear' (I John 4:18)."
